NAMES OF THE FOUNDER MEMBERS OF THE ALIENS RFC
FORMED FROM A GROUP OF SCHOOLTEACHERS BY FRED APPLEBEE AND JOE FAIRLEY IN 1907.
At the inaugural meeting it was discovered that of all those present not one was Liverpool born.
Some wag suggested that the club should be called "The Aliens", and the name was adopted.

THERE WERE PROPOSALS TO RENAME THE CLUB "TUEBROOK" AND "MERSEY"
BUT AT A GENERAL MEETING HELD AT THE BEE HOTEL ON THE 31st AUGUST 1920
BECAUSE THEY WERE TENNANTS OF THE EARL OF SEFTON, HUGH MOLYNEUX
IT WAS AGREED TO CHANGE THE NAME TO "SEFTON"
