John Milbourn, chairman of the Vagabonds’ Lawn Tennis Club and treasurer of the West Derby and District Lawn Tennis Tournament, is a well-known character in sporting circles throughout the city. He is the donor of the John Milbourn Tennis Trophy for open singles at West Derby, and, with Mr. H. Richardson, the secretary, does sterling work in organising the tournament. John has been connected with the Vagabonds since 1912, when he was an enthusiastic playing member, and since then he has turned his hand to many ventures in the cause of charity. He is the chairman of Aughton Parish Council, and is equally well known in the Ormskirk district.
