Oldershaw 14 Sefton 22

UNBEATEN Sefton sit at the head of South Lancashire/Cheshire Two League. Their latest victory came at the expense of Oldershaw 22-14 with John James, David Carr, Brian Gardner and Mark Tyms touching down and John Fenton adding a goal. 

Oldershaw had to settle for a Matt Blackmore try and three penalties by Mark Hallam. 6-Oct-2007

 

Sefton 0 Huddersfield YMCA 17

SEFTON met with a 17-0 EDF Energy Senior Vase reverse at the hands of Huddersfield YMCA as they paid the penalty for fielding a weakened line-up. They rarely looked like opening their account while the opposition secured a trio of tries plus a conversion. 13-Oct-2007

SEFTON suffered their first defeat in South Lancashire/Cheshire Two, 25-7 They had to settle for a Colin Pascoe try and a John Fenton conversion. Stuart Williams (2) and David Wayne crossed for the Anvils with Andy Kelly hitting two of the conversions and a brace of penalties. 20-Oct-2007

Sefton were in the lead going into the final minute of the game but gave away a stupid penalty. Neil Best and Mark Carruthers scored the tries with John Fenton adding a penalty and a conversion. 27-Oct-2007

Sefton still lack their early season sparkle and went down with John Fenton landing a brace of penalties and converting Dave Carr's try. 3-Nov-2007

 

Wallasey 7 Sefton 11

Sefton edged the cross-river derby thanks to a Colin Pascoe try in the sixth minute of injury time. John Fenton had earlier landed two penalties with Wallasey securing a Tom Cubbin touchdown and a Paul Lewis goal. 10-Nov-2007

 

Sefton 24 Crewe-Nantwich 11

"Crewe lost their 4th game in a row to probably the best side they have played in the league so far this season." says their website report. Mark Tyms, Tom Fletcher who ran in unopposed from a scrum and Colin Pascoe crossed for Sefton. John Fenton added three conversions and a penalty. 24-Nov-2007

Peter McBride, Tom Fletcher and Mark Tyms gained tries and John Fenton a penalty and a conversion. The home side registered with two tries through Andy Ritchie and Mike Dale. 1-Dec-2007
