After their famous 20-17 World Cup victory over Australia, supporters leave a pointed reminder

Sefton 17 Newton Le-Willows 0

Sefton reeled off their seventh straight victory to close in on the top teams. Centre Phil Evans had a massive input with a try, penalty and two conversions with Sefton also being awarded a penalty try. Newton never gave up but could not hold Sefton stars Peter McBride, Evans, Andy Walsh and Mark Tyms.

Trentham 13 Sefton 7

Down 13-0 at half-time, Sefton clawed their way back with a penalty try converted by Phil Evans and then twice went near through Paul Wynne and Mark Tyms.

Andy Walsh, Wynne and Tyms were prominent but couldn't prevent a first defeat in eight games.

Sefton 28 Manchester Wanderers 11

Sefton kept the Third Division pace setters in their sights. The tireless Mark Tyms and the rest of the forwards dominated, while centre Phil Evans was the scoring hero with 23 points thanks to two tries, three penalties and two conversions. Wayne Osborne scored the other try.

Wallasey 6 Sefton 0

Dave Hall's two penalties won this tight Cheshire/ South Lancashire Division Three promotion battle.

Sefton 17 Collegiate 0

Andy Walsh, Mark Tyms and Paul Wynne provided the platform for this impressive win which keeps Sefton snapping at the heels of the Division Three pace setters. Brothers Phil and Wayne Osborne scored the tries and Phil Evans added both conversions and a penalty.

Sefton 17 Douglas 15

Sefton lost a ten point lead to trail by five points before they were rescue by a Peter McBride try five minutes from the end with Phil Evans superbly adding the match winning conversion.

McBride finished with two tries and Phil Osborne one to keep alive Sefton's promotion hopes.
