Sefton were glad to hear the final whistle after Cheshire/South Lancs Three visitors St Edward's clawed their way back from 15-0. Mark Tyms was the Sefton star as they scored tries through Phil Osborne and Phil Evans, with Evans adding a penalty and a conversion. St Edward's fought back with tries by Driscoll and John Haslam, but just ran out of time.

Despite playing only 11 men towards the whistle of this Cheshire/ South Lancs Division Three clash Sefton were unable to overcome their hosts. Their tries came from Mark Tyms, Matty Thomas and Phil Osborne with Phil Evans and Wayne Osborne adding conversions.

Sefton's Powergen Vase third round win included a spectacular 70-yard solo try by Wayne Osborne. He added another while Peter McBride also scored and Phil Evans added two conversions. Karl Taylor scored a consolation try.

A strong all-round performance enabled Sefton to ease to a convincing Cheshire/South Lancashire Division Three success. Matt Thomas, Mark Tyms, Andy Walsh and Andy Sheehan caught the eye as Sefton scored tries through Tyms, Peter McBride and skipper Jamie Luck. Phil Evans completed the win with two conversions.

Sefton lost a 12-point half-time lead as Newton hit back to edge this tightly fought Cheshire/South Lancashire Division Three clash. Chris Hallard was best for Newton and scored a try with Mathew Bolland getting the other and Andrew McKenna adding two penalties.

Andy Sheehan and Stu Bailey impressed for Sefton who grabbed tries through Phil Evans and Sheehan with Evans tacking on a penalty and conversion.

Sefton produced their best performance of the season to beat higher league Oldershaw in the Powergen Cup third round. Mark Tyms scored the decisive try with Phil Evans adding a conversion and penalty.

Despite heavy legs from the previous days cup win against Oldershaw, a combined 1^st and 2^nd team pulled off a spectacular late winning try by Jamie Cuthbertson after a great break by Mark Yates. Phil Evans kept us in the Tetley Vase with two penalties.

Mike Hanlon, Mark Yates and Tom Fletcher were top men for Sefton who scored two tries in the first 10 minutes to control this Cheshire/South Lancashire Division game. Mark Yates and Peter McBride both crossed and Phil Evans added both conversions before Prenton replied with a late try by the impressive Craig Elkerton converted by Gareth Knapman.
