Sefton won this close encounter with Clitheroe in the Lancashire Plate first round thanks to a Gareth Rogerson try. Phil Evans managed to land two penalties to keep the away team in front. 27-Aug-2005

 

Sefton 50 Ellesmere Port 11

Sefton started the season in Cheshire/South Lancashire Division Three in fine style against relegated Ellesmere Port. A fifty point haul consisted of a hat-trick by winger Dave Stanistreet, tries by Mark Carruthers, Matty Thomas, new skipper Wayne Osborne, Phil Evans, and Colin Pascoe. Evans adding five conversions. 03-Sep-2005

Sefton 32 Marple 0

Visitors Marple fought hard in the second league game of the season but went down to tries by veteran Mark Tyms, Wayne Osborne, Phil Evans and Colin Pascoe. Evans managed to stay off the Stella and kicked three conversions and two penalties. 10-Sep-2005

Sefton 13 Ruskin Park 33

Ruskin Park from Cheshire/South Lancashire Division Two were always going to be a hard nut to crack. A first half opportunist try by Jamie Luck kept Sefton in the hunt but a strong- running second half performance by the St Helens outfit saw them comfortably home. 17-Sep-2005

Mossley Hill 7 Sefton 28

Sefton stretched their winning run in Division Three to three. Dave Stanistreet(2), Wayne Osborne and Tom Fletcher went in and Phil Evans put over a couple of penalties and a conversion. Nick Lodge goaled a Stuart Jones try for Hill.

Sefton made it four straight wins in division three with touch downs from Wayne Osborne, Jamie Cuthbertson and 'winger' Jamie Luck, plus two conversions and a couple of penalties by Phil Evans. 01-Oct-2005
