Sefton crashed out of the EDF Vase but came extremely close to victory being camped on the visitor's line for the last ten minutes. Moor were always in the lead but tries by Mike Hanlon and a fine 50 yard individual effort by Dave Stanistreet kept them in touch.

Sefton 12 Wallasey 16

An excellent performance by back row forward Paul Lewis earned Wallasey a 16-12 success at Sefton in Division Two. Lewis (two tries) also scored two penalties. Sefton's tries came from Mark Tyms and Andy Walsh with a Phil Evans goal.

Warrington 23 Sefton 13

Once again Sefton found the step up in leagues difficult to fathom out.

A try by Peter McBride and a conversion and penalty by Phil Evans kept them in the hunt at 10-10 by half-time.

The first ever meeting between the two sides brought a welcome two league points for Sefton. The tries came from a bulldozing Mark Tyms, Tom Fletcher and the young full-back John Fenton. Phil Evans added a penalty and conversion.

Crewe and Nantwich 25 Sefton 19

Sefton were well in touch going into the final quarter of this game with fine tries from the Osborne brothers and Tom Fletcher. Phil Evans added two conversions.

 Sefton 33 Manchester Wanderers 7

Sefton were happy with the two points against the visitors from Manchester. Peter McBride, Matt Thomas, Wayne Osborne, Mark Tyms and Dave Stanistreet all breached the Wanderers defence and Phil Evans add four conversions.

Ormskirk 21 Sefton 8

Ormskirk beat Sefton with tries from Keeley and Mahood - who also converted once plus three penalties by Healy. Dave Stanistreet touched down for Sefton and Phil Evans struck a penalty.
