Shell Stanlow 50 Sefton 22

Shell winger Phil Dutton grabbed a hat-trick to highlight this 12-try thriller in which Sefton played their part.

The rest of the tries came from Richard Nevin, Kevin Killen, Steve Silcock, Kevin Richardson and Paul Millington. Star player Kevin Mason added five conversions.

Sefton replied with two tries apiece for Brian Gardner and Robin Earwaker, who also added a goal.

Note

West Park’s home game with Merseyside Police was called off when ex-Sefton Captain Charlie Rowlands-Stewart arrested the referee for indecent exposure.
