Sefton's brave bid to win the Lancashire Plate Final ended in heartbreak at Warrington on Sunday.

Two late second half penalties for Didsbury proved the decisive scores after Sefton hat battled back from seven points down after only five minutes.

A Wayne Osborne penalty kept them in the game and a try by Gareth Rogerson closed the gap to two points.
