Sefton cruised to victory in this friendly, with new boys Llewellyn Griffiths (2) and Phil Osborne scoring tries. The others came from Mark Tyms (2), Dave Edwards and John Stitt. Phil Evans added three conversions.

Gareth Rogerson was outstanding for Sefton, while Halton had to settle for a Darren Curphy penalty.
