8 Sefton 13Sefton boosted their Cheshire South Lancashire Third Division promotion hopes by inflicting leaders Anselmians with their first home defeat of the season.
Brian Gardner, Mark Carruthers and Kevin Byrne spear-headed an outstanding display by the pack with the vital try coming from Mark Tyms. Phil Evans landed two crucial penalties and the conversion.
Anselmians replied with a Phil Mole try and Gareth Williams penalty.

18 Sefton 17Paul Ayers' late penalty won this promotion battle for Runcorn after Sefton had fought hard to establish a 17-15 lead with only three minutes to go.
The teams now meet at Sefton on Bank Holiday Monday with Sefton needing victory to stay in the Cheshire/South Lancashire Division Three promotion hunt.

18 Runcorn 20A DROP GOAL by scrum-half Lee Conchie made all the difference as Runcorn won a thrilling clash 20-18 at Sefton on Monday to boost their promotion from Cheshire/South Lancashire Division Three.
Sefton will have to be content with third place and just missing promotion, although it has been their best season for a decade.
Sefton's tries came from Phil Osborne and Mark Tyms, with Phil Evans adding two penalties and a conversion.
Runcorn were losing 10-7 at half-time, but ended up with tries by Conchie and Tony Ayers, a penalty and two conversions by Paul Ayers and a drop goal by Conchie.
