In a scrappy Cheshire/ South Lancashire Division Three game at Riversdale the Old Boys edged ahead despite a drop goal by skipper Jamie Luck.

Sefton pushed league leaders Wallasey all the way in this Cheshire/ South Lancashire Division Three fixture. A try by Wayne Osborne was added to by Phil Evans who kicked a penalty and a conversion.

Weakened Sefton showed plenty of skill and spirit before losing this Cheshire/ South Lancashire Division Three clash.

Peter McBride celebrated his return to senior action after an 18 month injury lay-off with a try as Sefton cruised to this Cheshire/ South Lancashire Third Division success. The other tries were scored by Phil Osborne and Dave Neary. Phil Evans added on three conversions.

Newton-Le-Willows 10 Sefton 29

Two-try Peter McBride and Gareth Rogerson inspired Sefton to a well earned Cheshire/ South Lancashire Third Division success. John Stitt, Phil Osborne and late replacement Paul Ryan grabbed the rest of the tries, Phil Evans adding two conversions.
