Sefton started the season in Cheshire/South Lancashire Division Three in fine style against relegated Ellesmere Port. A fifty point haul consisted of a hat-trick by winger Dave Stanistreet, tries by Mark Carruthers, Matty Thomas, new skipper Wayne Osborne, Phil Evans, and Colin Pascoe. Ruskin Park from Cheshire/South Lancashire Division Two were always going to be a hard nut to crack. A first half opportunist try by Jamie Luck kept Sefton in the hunt but a strong- running second half performance by the St Helens outfit saw them comfortably home. 17-Sep-2005

Sefton stretched their winning run in Division Three to three. Dave Stanistreet(2), Wayne Osborne and Tom Fletcher went in and Phil Evans put over a couple of penalties and a conversion. Nick Lodge goaled a Stuart Jones try for Hill.
